1. Purpose
These general terms and conditions (T&C) govern direct bookings made on the domecognac.fr website for the rental of the Dôme de Cognac, a unique accommodation located in Javrezac, 2 minutes from Cognac (Charente, France). Any booking implies full and complete acceptance of these terms by the guest.
2. Booking and payment
- The booking is confirmed after full online payment via the secure Stripe platform (credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal).
- The displayed price corresponds to the nightly rate for the selected period, with any applicable discounts (direct booking, last minute, promo code). The final price is the one shown at booking confirmation.
- The guest receives a confirmation email immediately after payment, summarising the dates, number of nights and amount paid.
- The dome has a capacity of 2 people. Any additional undeclared person must be notified before arrival.
3. Cancellation and refund
- To cancel: send an email to bonjour@domecognac.fr — the email reception date is authoritative.
- The refund is made within 7 to 14 business days, to the payment method used at booking.
- In case of early departure, no refund for unused nights.
4. Arrival and departure
- Check-in: from 4:00 pm — flexible times by prior agreement.
- Check-out: before 11:00 am.
- In case of delay, notify the hosts at 07 82 91 45 95.
- The exact address and access instructions are provided closer to the stay.
5. House rules
- Non-smoking: the dome is strictly non-smoking (inside and in the immediate surroundings). Any violation may incur cleaning/reconditioning fees.
- Pets: not allowed, except with prior written agreement from the hosts (and guide dogs, always welcome).
- The sauna is a private-use facility: use it with care, according to the provided instructions, and never alone in case of health issues.
- Respect the peace and quiet of the neighbourhood (family property) — especially between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am.
- The guest agrees to leave the dome in good condition. Linen is provided; dishes must be washed before departure.
6. Security deposit and possible charges
A €300 security deposit is required for every stay. It is taken as a card pre-authorisation: no money is debited from your account.
The day before your arrival, you receive a secure link to authorise this amount. If no damage is found, the authorisation is released automatically after your stay — with no action needed on your part. The amount then becomes available again on your account.
If damage or a breach occurs, only the corresponding amount is charged, and you are always informed of the details.
- Material damage (furniture, equipment, linen, dishes): actual cost of repair or replacement, on invoice or quote.
- Damage to the dome (canvas, structure, window): on quote.
- Improper use of the sauna (product poured on the stones, damage to the bench or heater): actual cost of restoration.
- Smoking or vaping indoors: €250 (full deodorisation and dome unavailability).
- Exceptional cleaning (dishes not washed, bins not emptied, abnormal soiling): €60.
- Late departure without prior agreement: €50, then €50 per additional hour.
- Undeclared pet: €100.
- Undeclared additional guest: €80 per person per night.
- Lost keys or access devices: €150.
- Missing items: actual replacement cost.
These amounts are applied with discernment: we always favour dialogue, and only charge in case of genuine damage or a clear breach.
7. Liability
- The guest is responsible for damage caused to the dome and its equipment during the stay. Any damage noticed must be reported to the hosts and may be charged at the cost of repair or replacement.
- Personal items left on site are the guest's responsibility.
- Use of the sauna, terrace and outdoor areas is at the guest's own risk, who acknowledges having been informed of the safety instructions.
8. Personal data
The information collected at booking (name, email, dates) is used solely for booking management, sending the confirmation and stay-related communication. It is never shared with third parties. In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify and delete your data — write to bonjour@domecognac.fr. The site's cookies are managed via the Axeptio consent platform.
